Design Concept
The Rimowa suitcase shop design is full of modern and futuristic sense, with smooth curves and simple geometric forms to build a highly recognizable spatial language. The circular light fixtures on the ceiling are the visual focal point, and the soft light echoes the surrounding curves, creating a sense of openness and transparency like an airport terminal, implying a deep connection between the brand and the travel scene. The lines of the space are free of angularity and convey elegance from the undulating ceiling at the top to the rounded edges of the display table. This design not only dispels the cramped space and the cramped feeling but also, through the visual extension, lets the customer, in the browsing process, produce an immersive experience.

The use of lighting is also very clever. The embedded point light source and the circular ceiling lamp form a hierarchical lighting system, which not only ensures the brightness demand of the product display but also strengthens the three-dimensional sense of the space through the contrast of light and shadow. Light-toned walls and ceilings further amplify the sense of openness of the space against the backdrop of light, while local wood elements inject a warm texture into the bright tone. The balance between the sense of science and technology and the sense of humanity has been realized. This design language accurately interprets the core of the Rimowa brand, which pursues innovative technology and pays attention to humanistic experience, so that customers can feel the travel aesthetics conveyed by the brand at the moment they enter the store.

Layout Planning

Material selection
The use of materials, metal and wood, throughout the whole space with the precise echo of the brand’s luggage products’ material gene. The heavy use of metal elements in the store, such as the silver-grey display cases and metallic decorative lines, visually communicates with Rimowa’s iconic aluminum-magnesium luggage, strengthening the visual identity of the brand. The cold texture of this metal material conveys the solidity and durability of the product and adds a sense of technology and sophistication to the space.
The warm contrast is the use of wood materials, light wood walls, display racks, and decorative columns for the space to bring a natural texture and soft touch. The warm texture of the wood neutralizes the coldness of the metal, creating a comfortable and pleasant shopping environment, suggesting that the brand pays attention to the emotional experience of the user while pursuing the functionality of the product.

The use of glass material is also quite clever, with transparent glass windows and partitions so that the space maintains good permeability, both to show the product and to expand the visual space. The transparent texture of glass and metal and the wood materials set each other off, further strengthening the modern sense of space and delicate sense. The selection and matching of these materials are not purely aesthetic considerations but deeply fit the product characteristics of the Rimowa brand, “solid and elegant coexistence,” making the store space a three-dimensional presentation of the brand concept. Every material detail is telling of the brand’s unremitting pursuit of quality and design.
